'Friday Night, Saturday Morning' shows two birds - one predator and one prey.

Alluding to transient weekend courtships the imagery transfers the human exchange to a context in nature. The smaller bird is painted conventionally and the larger bird of prey an outline. It is as if the world can be seen through the cut-out shape of the second bird. Schofield plays with our ideas of reality and scale, perspective and imagination. As with all Schofield paintings we are left asking questions.
